1. Before training
Physical exercise involves effort and risks depending on the activity and personal circumstances. Choose intensity suitable for your experience, read instructions and ask for guidance if you do not know equipment. If you have clinical concerns, injury, pregnancy or a condition affecting exercise, consult an appropriate healthcare professional.
Momentum does not diagnose and does not replace healthcare. Ordinary membership does not require a broad medical history. Any future health question must be necessary, specific, limited, protected and supported by a legal basis and alternative.
2. During exercise
- warm up, hydrate and increase load progressively;
- use safety devices, technique and suitable space, and ask for help with risky lifts;
- stop for chest pain, unusual breathing difficulty, fainting, severe dizziness, confusion or injury;
- report damaged machines, spills, obstructions or dangerous conduct.
3. Emergencies and incidents
For immediate danger call 112 and alert staff. Follow evacuation routes and keep exits clear. Staff follow the centre plan within their training and call emergency services where appropriate.
Report injuries, accidents and near misses so the person can be helped, risk corrected and evidence preserved. Only relevant information is recorded, with restricted access and defined retention. An insurer or authority request is verified before disclosure.
4. Responsibilities
Members act with reasonable care and follow safety directions. Momentum maintains reasonably safe premises, equipment, processes, staff and response. This information does not transfer every risk to a member or exclude Momentum’s legal liability.
